Wattle tick scale

Wattle tick scaleThese look like little aliens marching along a stem, the one central eye looking straight ahead. They are actually one of the many species of scale that you may come across in the bush. They are about 5mm across and begin as light bluish-grey and age to light or dark brown. While they look like berries I wouldn’t try eating them. These were on a rough wattle, Acacia aspera.
