Duck into Trentham

Just one street north of High Street in Trentham is a small lake with a well maintained picnic area. We decided it looked like a good spot for lunch on Saturday. Some of the trees are deciduous and were exhibiting lovely red and yellow autumn foliage.

There were a few birds on the lake such as an egret, coots, grebes, shelducks and wood ducks. We spotted a spoonbill asleep on one leg in a tree, with a cormorant resting a few branches above it.
