On Saturday on the way back from the Cobden area we decided to call into Lake Tooliorook which is just south west of Lismore. This is a very pretty spot with a small camping ground, playground, boat launching ramp and jetty.
Lake Tooliorook attracts a few anglers and some were trying their luck. Rainbow trout are one of the attractions. Field Naturalists would be interested in the waterfowl. We saw hundreds of coot interspersed with a few swans, a hardhead, freckled duck, grebe and cormorant. The view across the lake to Mount Elephant makes this site a great place to camp or stop off for afternoon tea.
